There is a huge question that my clients seem to always bring up during their time with me. They wonder “How do I change my mindset?”. That looks different for everyone, which is why there is not one answer to that question. However, there is one small change everyone can make to help take the steps towards changing.
Stop thinking about what you don’t want AND start thinking about what you do want!
Once I realized this, I started to pay more attention to the thoughts running through my head and I realized I do think about what I don’t want! For me this realization was important, because when you think about what you don’t want it creates a negative mindset and when your mind is always in the negative mindset, how can positive things happen?. This was a huge ah-ha moment for me. I needed to make a change. Instead of saying things like I don’t want to be fat or I don’t want to have a bad day at work, switch it around. Say I want to be healthy or I want to have a good day at work.
Think about it…
If you start switching your thoughts, then you will slowly start to rewire your brain to a more positive mindset.
With the idea that like attracts like, then positive mindsets will attract positive things. This might seem like a simple idea but give it a try and see what happens. Check in on how often you say “I don’t” rather than “I do”.
